I am a patient of Smile Dental Care. The first time I had an emergency and I had a very positive experience where I was given all the info and also the price. This time I was given a price on the phone but then once I got my molar fixed I found the price was more than double. The dentist was really good and professional. She solved the issue in just 15 minutes but she did not explain me anything. She just told me I needed a filling and if I wanted it in white. She did not mention at all that the price of the white filling was different than the other and she did nto mention the price at all.Once agian the dentist was amazing but the lack of info and price was really disappointing.
Good so far, but the receptionist aren't polite and don't welcome the patients.
I went in for an emergency appointment as I had been experiencing gum pain and struggling to eat for the last couple of days. As I was due to go on holiday the following morning, I had to phone the 111 emergency number who eventually redirected me and found me an emergency slot at this practice, so I was desperate and relieved to get an appointment. I was called into the room quickly but felt very rushed which I thought was fair enough as I was told I would be seen between appointments due to this being an emergency appointment. My mouth was briefly checked and x rays taken, and I was told that everything is fine and there is nothing of concern and nothing they can do to help me. I mentioned that I had been struggling to eat or sleep the last couple of days due to the pain and felt that I may be getting an infection or an abscess, and was desperate to sort this out before my flight in the morning but again I was told not to worry and just take painkillers and avoid eating on that side. I could tell this was an abscess in the early stages but I didn't want to argue so I reluctantly listened to the dentist. After wasting 21.60 for this useless appointment, I stupidly followed her advice and ended up going on my flight with the pain getting considerably worse and unbearable. This ended up becoming a severe abscess/infection as I had initially thought. I suffered with unbearable pain and struggling to eat or talk for over a week in a foreign country until I was finally able to find relief elsewhere. I appreciate being seen at such short notice but even so, it is unacceptable to treat your patients as merely numbers and offering unprofessional advice without a real solution.
My Dentist is wonderful . But !!! I've never met so many unfriendly receptionists behind one desk.As going to the dentist for some patients is quite traumatic,the first point of contact is the receptionist .They definitely need retraining in the art of smiling and friendliness to help put patients at ease.There is no welcome or eye contact which is a huge shame as it lets the practice down .
Quality dental surgery. I have had an excellent experience with smile dental care. I joined one evening and had a check up the following morning. I then had my filling done within a week. Highly impressive. I found both dentists that saw me so friendly and they made me feel at ease.
